ABOUT ADAPTIVE PROFILE

Your identity should belong to you.

Adaptive Profile is a living, user-owned identity grounded in real data, evidence and provenance. It brings together the parts of your life you approve and turns them into profiles, applications, introductions, proofs and private views—without forcing you to start over every time.

Different experiences, records and evidence coming together into one Adaptive Profile.

The problem is not a lack of data. It is a lack of control.

Your experience, identity, achievements and interests already exist across dozens of platforms, documents and databases. But those systems do not understand the whole person. Every platform keeps its own incomplete version of you. Every application asks you to repeat your history. Important context disappears, outdated information survives and you rarely control how your information is interpreted. AI makes it easier to generate more profiles and claims. It does not automatically make them more truthful. We believe the missing layer is a private identity that begins with the individual—not the platform.

Incomplete and inconsistent versions of one person scattered across multiple systems.

One identity. Many outputs.

Adaptive Profile is not another profile you have to maintain. It is the private source from which other profiles are created. Connect approved sources, import documents and add real experiences. AI helps organize information and surface possible updates; you review and approve what becomes part of your identity. From that foundation, create resumes and applications, professional and public profiles, project portfolios, private Shared Rooms, introductions, evidence-backed claims and purpose-specific identity views.

A supported claim shared while its private underlying data remains hidden.

Trust without unnecessary exposure.

Verification should not require handing over your complete history. Adaptive Profile keeps claims and supporting evidence separate. You can share a relevant fact without automatically exposing the private information behind it. A claim can be self-declared, supported by evidence, confirmed by a connected source or independently verified. The recipient can understand what supports the claim, while you remain in control of the underlying data.

AI should help you understand yourself—not invent you.

Your Adaptive Profile agent helps organize your information, uncover overlooked experience, identify gaps and create useful outputs. It can suggest changes, ask questions and help you express what you have done. But it should never silently rewrite your identity, manufacture achievements or present unsupported claims as fact. Nothing should become part of your profile without your knowledge and approval.

Beyond work.

We began with a simple observation: a resume cannot represent the reality of a person. But the resume is only one symptom of a much larger problem. People repeatedly rebuild themselves for employers, schools, financial services, housing providers, marketplaces, communities and digital platforms. A real identity is broader than employment. It can include work, projects, education, independent learning, credentials, documents, reputation, interests, culture, wellbeing, travel and lived experience. Not everything needs to be shared. But everything you choose to include should work for you.

Built around the individual.

Adaptive Profile is guided by five principles.

Private by default — Your complete identity is never automatically public.

Consent-driven — You decide which sources are connected and what becomes part of your profile.

Grounded in reality — Important claims can be connected to their sources, evidence and provenance.

Adaptable by design — Share the right version for the situation instead of exposing everything.

Reusable — Build your identity once, continue developing it and use it in many different ways.

Jan Valkonen, founder of Adaptive Profile.

Why I am building this.

For years, I have been almost obsessed with the idea that the traditional resume is obsolete. I have worked at the intersection of people, AI, recruitment and digital platforms, and I kept seeing the same failure: people are expected to compress the reality of their lives into static forms designed for someone else’s system. Seeing the same problem affect the next generation—including my own daughter—made it personal. I initially wanted to build a better way to represent professional experience. But the deeper I went, the clearer it became that the resume was not the real problem. The real problem was that people did not have a reusable, evolving and trustworthy source of their own identity. That is what Adaptive Profile is becoming.

I am building this with the people it is for.

Adaptive Profile is still evolving. I am building, testing and listening carefully to people who are tired of repeatedly uploading, rewriting and proving their lives. If you believe your identity should begin with you, your data should work for you and AI should remain grounded in reality, then you are exactly who we are building this for.

Private by default. Grounded in reality. Controlled by you.
